Demoeröffnung beim Weltsozialforum in Nairobi, 20.-25. Januar 2007

Mehr als 60000 TeilnehmerInnen registrierten sich beim Weltsozialforum (WSF) in Nairobi, Kenia. Zum siebten Mal fand das WSF parallel zum Weltwirtschaftsforum in Davos (WEF) statt.
Harsche Kritik aufgrund von Ausgrenzung begleitete das WSF, es gab Aktionen wegen zu hoher Preise für Teilnahmegebühren und Essen. Viele bunte Demonstrationen zogen rund um den Austragungsort, einem großen Fußballstadion. Die Eröffnungs- und Abschlußveranstaltungen liefen im Uhuru Park im Stadtzentrum von Nairobi über die Bühne. Im Vorfeld des WSF trafen sich Feministinnen aus Nord und Süd bei den Feminist Dialogues in Nairobi.
