Hinrichtung von Troy Anthony Davis in letzter Minute aufgeschoben

Nach einer Meldung des Scotus Blog hat der Bundesgerichtshof die für letzte Nacht um 01:00 in Georgia geplante Hinrichtung von Troy Anthony Davis kurz vor deren Ausführung gestoppt, um sich Zeit zur Beschäftigung mit seiner Berufung zu verschaffen. Siehe den Beschluss vom 23.09.2008.

Der Gerichtshof will sich kommenden Montag mit Davis' Fall befassen. Wenn die Berufung abgewiesen wird, soll seine Hinrichtung umgehend erfolgen, im Falle einer Zulassung wird diese bis zu einer Entscheidung aufgeschoben.

Unterstützt die Proteste in den USA, beispielsweise durch die Teilnahme an der Eilaktion bei Amnesty International!
