Anläßlich des gestrigen 61. Jahrestags des Atombombenabwurfs auf Hiroshima hat das politblog.net einen längeren Artikel dazu veröffentlicht.

Obwohl Japan zum damaligen Zeitpunkt militärisch bereits am Ende war, nahm die U.S. Militärführung unter der Führung von US-Präsident Truman zehntausende von Opfern in Kauf: 140.000 starben bis Ende 1945 an den Folgen des Abwurfs.
Der zweite Atombombenabwurf auf Nagasaki geschah drei Tage später, am 9. August 1945. Die Opfer steigerten sich dadurch auf über 250.000.

Bis zum heutigen Tage gab es keine Entschuldigung der USA bei den Opfern für den Abwurf der Atombombe auf Hiroshima.
